An adult must be present to meet afternoon elementary students at drop off –
we will not drop off without actually seeing an adult. Written permission must be provided
for a bus to drop off an elementary student at a location without adult supervision.

ST. BERNARD’S SCHOOL
MORNING: St. Bernard’s students ride area Petrova Elementary buses and transfer to “Train” Bus #59 at Petrova, which takes students to St. Bernard’s School
AFTERNOON: St. Bernard’s students ride “Car” Bus #62 to Petrova. All transfer to home bus at Petrova Elementary School, riding the afternoon Elementary Route to destination.

HIGH SCHOOL WALK ZONE INFORMATION:
High School students who live within the State-Prescribed
One-Mile Walk Zone (underlined streets), will be able to ride school buses, provided they
are outside, on-time, ready to meet the bus on a main road location or intersection.
If unsure about walk zone locations, contact the bus garage at numbers below.
Buses will not be returning for students who miss the regular bus stop time.
Special Needs students will continue to be provided busing as needed.
In the event of extreme weather conditions all students will be
able to ride buses, preferably with advance notice by calling

Tips for Parents – Student Transportation
Address or Daycare Changes
If your address or daycare provider has changed, please let the Bus Garage know as soon as possible. You can reach us by:

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Locations
The district can only accommodate up to two locations for your child’s transportation needs (example: home and daycare).
We ask that these locations be on a set schedule to help us keep routes safe, consistent, and efficient.
Elementary Student Drop-Off
An adult must be present to meet elementary students in the afternoon. For safety reasons, we cannot drop off unless we physically see an adult.
If you would like your child to be dropped off without adult supervision, written permission is required.
Please encourage your child to watch the driver and follow bus stop safety rules.
Addresses & House Numbers
If your mailing address is a P.O. Box, please provide your physical street or road location so drivers know where to pick up and drop off your child.
A visible number on your house or rural mailbox helps our drivers find your home more safely and easily.
Backpacks
We recommend backpacks for younger children to keep items contained. This reduces the chance of something falling into the road or near a school bus.
Food & Drinks on the Bus
Students are not permitted to eat or drink while on the bus. Lollipops and hard candy can be especially dangerous if the bus stops suddenly.
Cell Phones & Electronics
The same cell phone and electronics policy that applies in school also applies on the bus. Students are expected to follow district rules regarding usage.
Bus Behavior
Students are expected to remain seated and behave appropriately while on the bus. Unsafe or improper behavior may result in a Disciplinary Referral and consequences.
