Exit Outcomes

The District Level Team, made up of teachers, administrators, parents, students, support staff, chamber of commerce members, and school board members worked together to create student outcomes for Saranac Lake graduates.  These outcomes describe the essential learning believed to be crucial to the success of all students in the district.

We, the Saranac Lake Central School Community, accept responsibility for the academic, emotional, physical and social education for all our children.

Saranac Lake graduates will demonstrate :

  • ability to read, write, speak, and listen in order to communicate effectively

  • quantitative and technological literacy 

  • skills in expressing themselves creatively and responding intelligently to the fine arts and the creative works of others

  • concern, tolerance and respect for other in social interactions

  • ability to accept and participate in the on-going process of personal and social change

  • analytical abilities including critical and creative thinks skills

  • skills in problem solving and decision making

  • ability to make hones and ethical value judgments

  • responsible participation and understanding of community, environment, and society

  • understanding of the diversity of cultures in our global community

  • capacity for enhancing and sustaining self-esteem through emotional, intellectual, physical well-being

  • skills necessary to be life long , self-directed learners and workers

These outcomes will further serve to give direction to the curriculum development process within the district as specific student outcomes are developed for each grade level and subject area.
