This website was constructed by Todd Williams, SLHS Class Of 2004, as an Independent Study project during the Spring semester under the direction of Mr. Adam Brayshaw, high school computer science teacher.

Todd Williams
Todd was enrolled as a student in our newly created Web Design course during the fall of 2003. Wanting to expand his knowledge of web design, Todd enrolled in an Independent Study during the Spring 2004 semester. When asked if he wanted to take on the project of converting the District’s Board Policy Handbook into a website, he agreed. Frankly, I doubt either of us had any idea at the time of the amount of work that would be involved in this conversion. As the result of this effort, almost 300 typewritten pages have been converted into an easily navigable website.

The original content of this website was provided in word processor format by the District office. That document, which consisted of the Articles shown in the Table Of Contents page, was broken down into individual word processor documents, one per article. These individual article documents were then edited to remove typographical errors and to correct formatting.

Todd then converted each article’s word processing document into HTML code, and added improved navigation to each page in the form of section links at the top of each article page.

The Table of Contents page was then created, which provides easy navigation links to the desired article page.

This effort represents approximately 100 combined man-hours of work on the part of Todd Williams and myself, with the majority of the time provided by Todd.
